Description |
Reproduction, black & white photograph of the toll bridge and the Frisco Railroad bridge over the Arkansas River. The toll bridge across the Arkansas River was built from private funds by the Commercial Bridge Company in 1904. The bridge was built of iron and steel with wood planking floor. The bridge was barely wide enough for wagons to pass. It was replaced by a concrete bridge in 1917. In the photograph there is a wagon crossing the bridge. The bridge to the right of the toll bridge is the Frisco Railroad bridge, built in 1884. BW, Tulsa, Indian Territory, 1905. |
