Panoramic caricature measuring 35.5" x 13.25" and depicting employees of the Amerada Petroleum Corporation. The drawing was commissioned for the company's 50th anniversary in 1969. An index and index key of the indivuduals portrayed is below. Amerada Petroleum Corporation was founded June 4, 1919 in Tulsa, OK. Company offices were located at 241 Kennedy Building at the intersection of East 4th Street and South Boston Avenue. As the company grew, the offices moved to larger space, which included the following: Petroleum Building at 420 South Boston Avenue, Beacon Life Building at 406 South Boulder Avenue, and offices at 218 West 6th Street. In 1951, Amerada Petroleum Corporation discovered oil in North Dakota. The company later became known as Amerada-Hess, and later as Hess Corporation. |
