Newspaper clipping from the Tulsa Tribune published June 8, 1921, and entitled "Quash Charges Against Three In Theft Cases; Errors Made in Informations Against Trio." This article states that Tulsa County Attorney W. A. Seaver quashed charges against three individuals charged earlier with looting homes of African Americans during the Tulsa Race Massacre. Information filed against Mrs. T. L. Murphree and Mrs. Ruth McNair for thefts from a house on North Detroit Avenue were quashed because the charges were found to be baseless. Charges against H. Forkner were quashed because it was discovered that he was not in Tulsa at the time of the looting. The bottom of the newspaper clipping contains a second article entitled "No Charge Filed." The Tulsa Tribune retracts a previous article stating that Louis Jacobs was charged with looting property during the Race Massacre. |
