Recording of an oral history interview featuring Marlene Thompson McAllister. It was conducted at the Tulsa Historical Society and Museum by volunteer Lorretta Bertalot on November 28, 2023. The audio track is fifty-seven minutes in length. McAllister talks about a memoir written by her father, Robert Taylor Thompson, entitled "Far Away Places with Strange Sounding Names." See item 2023.195.004 for the memoir. Thompson served in the Army during World War II. He was captured by the Germans and imprisoned at Oflag 64 in Szubin, Poland. Marlene McAllister, his oldest daughter, is a founding council member of the Polish American Foundation whose purpose is to build a memorial museum in Szubin.
