Twelve-page petition filed in the District Court in Craig County, OK as document number 9623 in the legal case Grand River Dam Authority, plaintiff v. Public Service Company of Oklahoma, et el., defendants. The petition states that the Grand River Dam Authority was the highest bidder with the federal government War Assets Administration for the Oklahoma Ordinance Works, a steam plant located east of the town of Chouteau in Mayes County, OK. The Public Service Company also bid for the property, and after learning that they were not the highest bidder, "conspired and knowingly, wilfully, wrongfully and maliciously made to the War Assets Administration false, untrue and malicious charges and statements derogatory to the Authority's right, power, authority and ability to acquire said plant and offered to pay the War Assets Administration $3,600,000 for said plant if the said War Assets Administration would reject the bid of the Authority and sell said plant to the said Public Service Company." Author William Rea Holway referred to this resource as "Exhibit XV-5" in the second volume of his 1969 work, "A History of the Grand River Dam Authority." |
