Audio cassette containing a recording of an oral history interview of Gertrude Winterringer Carr conducted by Jennifer Henry of the Historical Preservation Office for the Tulsa Historical Society & Museum on March 20, 1979. The audio track is 40:24 in length. Carr, along with some additions from her husband, Raymond, tells of her life in early Tulsa. Gertrude and Raymond grew up on the same block on North Denver Avenue in the neighborhood of Brady Heights. Gertrude's grandfather was George Mowbray, an English-born Methodist missionary who came to Indian Territory in 1888, starting the Tulsa Commercial Club and serving as the fifth mayor of Tulsa, Creek Nation.
