Newspaper clipping from the Tulsa Daily World published June 7, 1921, and entitled "Citizens Commended; Those Who Risked Lives to Disarm Negro Ruffians During Riot Get Vote of Thanks by Kiwanians." This article reports that the Kiwanis Club of Tulsa adopted a resolution thanking citizens who risked their lives to stop the violence now known as the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The resolution also condemned those that set fire to property in the African American section of town. The article also states that the Kiwanis Club also considered, but tabled, a resolution in favor of converting the destroyed African American section of Tulsa into an industrial section. |
