Three-page, typewritten construction progress report prepared by William Rea Holway of Holway and Neuffer Consulting Engineers of Tulsa, OK, to the board members of the Grand River Dam Authority in Vinita, OK, dated February 5, 1940. The report contains a summary of progress on the construction of the Pensacola Dam project on the Grand River in Oklahoma. Holway briefly highlights construction contracts #5-7, 9, and 11-16. These contracts involve the following work: hydraulic turbines, electric generators, dam and power house, structural steel, Saint Louis & San Francisco "Frisco" Railway track elevation, clearing for lake area, power house auxiliaries and switchyard, Pensacola-Fort Gibson transmission line, 33 kv transmission system, Vinita and Grove water supplies, and Ajax and Shell pipeline relocation. The report also contains two diagrams: a general progress diagram for contract #7 (dam and power house) drawn by A. B. Morgan, and a concrete progress diagram for contract #7 (dam and powerhouse) dated January 1940 and drawn by A. D. Fornelli. Author William Rea Holway referred to this resource as "Exhibit VII-5" in the first volume of his 1968 work, "A History of the Grand River Dam Authority." |
