Newspaper clipping from the editorial section of the Tulsa Tribune on June 8, 1921, and entitled "Freeling." This editorial supports Oklahoma Attorney General S. P. Freeling's investigation of the inefficiency of public officials in Tulsa and Tulsa County, OK following the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The editor blames Tulsa Police Commissioner James M. Adkison for not eliminating "booze joints" in the city. He also suggests that Tulsa movie houses restrict "crime-suggestive pictures" from their establishments. The editor also states that Tulsa Mayor Thaddeus Daniel Evans has not fulfilled his campaign promise to "clean up" the town and strengthen enforcement of laws. |
