Black & white picture postcard measuring 5.5" x 3.5" and depicting Ruth A. Bandy Pilkington standing in her garden underneath a large Colocasia (elephant ear) plant. She was the wife of James A. "Jim" Pilkington, the first traffic policeman in the Tulsa Police Department. In retirement, the Pilkington's lived on a farm known as Powerderhorn Place on Spavinaw Creek in Delaware County, Oklahoma. The Upper Spavinaw later engulfed this area after the creation of Lake Eucha. |
