Photocopy of nine-page docket #23368 from the District Court, Tulsa, County, OK, entitled "Mrs. J. H. Goodwin [Carlie M. Goodwin] v. City of Tulsa, et al." Goodwin seeks to recover damages for property destroyed in the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre valued at $27,122. The plaintiff also seeks damages of $5,000 as a result of the deterioration of health from living destitute after the fires. Goodwin also stated that the St. Clair Oil Company, at the request of the agents of the City of Tulsa, provided airplanes from which turpentine bombs were dropped upon the plaintiff's property. The City of Tulsa asked the court to dismiss the case in a motion to quash filed July 14, 1923. |
