Five-page, typewritten construction progress report prepared by William Rea Holway of Holway and Neuffer Consulting Engineers of Tulsa, OK, to the board members of the Grand River Dam Authority in Vinita, OK, dated March 6, 1939. The report contains a summary of progress on the construction of the Pensacola Dam project on the Grand River in Oklahoma. Holway briefly highlights construction contracts #5-13A, hydraulic turbines, electric generators, excavation for dam and power house, coffer dams, aggregate, concrete, grouting, equipment, Grove Highway Bridge, Saint Louis & San Francisco "Frisco" Railway track, Kansas, Oklahoma & Gulf Railway relocation, clearing for lake area, power house auxiliaries and switchyard, Pensacola-Fort Gibson transmission line, future contracts, and surveying and mapping. The report also contains six diagrams: a concrete progress diagram for contract #7 (dam and power house) dated February 28, 1939 and drawn by A. D. Fornelli, a construction progress diagram of contract #8 (Grove Highway Bridge) dated February 28, 1939 and drawn by E. F. Dibble, a construction progress diagram for contract #9 (Saint Louis & San Francisco "Frisco" Railway track elevation) dated February 28, 1939 and drawn by W. E. Harris, a construction progress diagram for contract #10 (Kansas, Oklahoma & Gulf Railway relocation) dated February 28, 1939 and drawn by W. E. Harris, a general progress diagram for contract #7 (dam and power house) drawn by A. B. Morgan, and an excavation progress diagram for contract #7 (dam and power house) dated February 28, 1939 and drawn by Charles Nichols. Author William Rea Holway referred to this resource as "Exhibit VII-5" in the first volume of his 1968 work, "A History of the Grand River Dam Authority." |
