Recordiogram phonograph record recorded by the American Red Cross for U.S. Army Private First Class Robert Eugene Evans on May 10, 1945. At the time, Evans was a patient in the Beaumont General Hospital in El Paso, TX. Evans addressed the sleeve for this record to his parents, James Ulysess and Mamie L. Garst Evans, who lived at 3907 South Union, Tulsa, OK. Side one contains 1:39 of audio in which Evans wishes his parents well telling them that he recorded this message so their could hear his voice. He comments on someone graduating soon from A&M. He states that he hopes to be able to go back to college sometime in the future. Side two of the record contains 2:03 of audio, but loud static makes the recoded message inaudible. |
