Description |
Black and white photograph measuring 7.5" x 4.5" and depicting a sod house built by S. A. Towers and family in the spring of 1894 in Blackwell, Oklahoma Territory, following the opening of the Cherokee Strip on September 16, 1893. The house was located 3.5 miles east and 1 mile north of Blackwell. This photograph of the house dates to April 1902. Towers later sold the house and farm containing eighty acres. |
