Reproduction, sepia-toned photograph measuring 23.75" x 20" and depicting Maria Tallchief, Rosella Hightower, Moscelyne Larkin, and Yvonne Chouteau, taken by photographer Bob McCormack in 1957. The photograph was taken at the first Oklahoma Indian Ballerina Festival held on October 18–19, 1957 at the Tulsa Municipal Theatre in Tulsa, OK. WIth the addition of Marjorie Tallchief, the five ballerinas—each of Native American heritage—were known collectively as the Five Moons.They were accomplished and respected artists in the world of ballet, commanding international attention during the 20th century. |
