Color, 35mm slide transparency depicting the Titus Mansion, constructed in the English Gothic architectural style and located at 1800 Forest Boulevard, Tulsa, OK. The image shows the home as viewed from the driveway. In 1930, Cornelius William Titus and his wife, Mary O'Dessa Kessler Titus, contracted with the architectural firm of Hart, Pratt & Bonds of Kansas City, MO, for the construction of a new home built on a ten-acre lot located at 1800 Forest Hills Boulevard. The relationship between C. W. Titus and the firm declined, and Titus then hired Tulsa architect John Blair. The mansion, completed in 1932, consists of a facade of red brick and cut limestone and a slate roof. Titus later sold much of the acreage, leaving the mansion on 2.57 acres. Country music entertainer Roy Clark purchased the property in 1974. |
