Black and white photograph measuring 10" 8" and depicting Tulsa Mayor Lilburn Carl Clark at wheel of a Mier 1904 automobile in front of C. C. Brock Shoe Shop, located in the Forcue Building at 122 East 3rd Street in Tulsa, OK. This image was taken on the fiftieth anniversary of the Rotary Club of Tulsa, March 1955. In 1905, Solomon Mier founded the Mier Carriage and Buggy Company. He produced many carriages and eventually built automobiles, which he called the "Mier Runabout." Other businesses visible in the background include the following (left to right): Walter J. Brim Drug Store, 124 East 3rd Street; Plaza Cafe, 122 East 3rd Street; United Cleaners & Hatters, 120 East 3rd Street; and Pla-Boy Bar, 120 East 3rd Street. |
