Description |
Color photograph measuring 6" x 4" and depicting the Reverend Sylvester Morris House, the oldest surviving house in Tulsa, OK. Morris, a Methodist missionary, built the home circa 1885 in what is now the 400 block of North Cheyenne Avenue. In 1976, the house was moved to Owen Park as a means of safeguarding it from destruction. This view shows the wooden fence the surrounds the house and the sign about the house's history. The house is listed in "One Hundred Historic Tulsa Homes" by John Brooks Walton on page 14. |
