Black & white photograph measuring 8" x 10" depicting five African American men sifting through the burned ruins of the Gurley Hotel located at 112 1/2 North Greenwood Avenue, Tulsa, OK, following the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The men are salvaging bricks from the destroyed hotel building. The photographer was Reverend Jacob H. Hooker whose studio was located at 22 North Elgin Avenue. |
