Black & white photograph measuring 10" x 8" and depicting Osage Chief Fred Lookout seated in the front seat of a convertible for the dedication ceremony of the one-thousandth A-26 Invader manufactured at Douglas Aircraft Company in Tulsa, OK. Lookout's wife, Julia Pryor Mongrain Lookout, stands in the back. Three unidentified men stand behind the automobile. During the dedication, Lookout christened the A-26 with crude oil from one of his own oil wells. The A-26 was named "Wa-Ko-Tha-Tonka," or "Menace to the Enemy." |
