Description |
Color, 35 mm, transparency slide depicting the demolition of the Tulsa County Courthouse, located on the northeast corner of the intersection of 6th Street and South Boulder Avenue, Tulsa, OK. Construction of the courthouse began in 1911 and workmen laid the cornerstone on July 24, 1911. Work continued until the next year when the courthouse opened for use in March 1912. The building contained four stories, measured 120 by 120 feet, and cost approximately $500,000. The Tulsa architectural firm of Winkler & MacDonald designed the building. In October 1960, the Blagg Wrecking Company demolished the courthouse shown in this image. |
