Black & white photograph measuring 9.5" x 4.375" and depicting a group of veterans marching in the Veterans' Day Parade in Tulsa, OK, circa 1955. The parade started at approximately South Frankfort Avenue and 3rd Street. The man in front is Waldo Emerson "Dode" McIntosh (1893-1991). McIntosh wears his World War I uniform as several other veterans follow him. McIntosh served as a first sergeant in the U.S. Army. In 1961, he became Chief of the Muscogee Creek Nation. He also served as the first president of the Tulsa County Historical Society. The building for Veale Electric Company is visible in the background. |
