Color, 35 mm, roll film negative containing three images of an unidentified, female dancer in colorful regalia at the Tulsa Powwow at Mohawk Park in Tulsa, OK, on August 11, 1990. Kiowa Indian Kenneth Anquoe (1920-1989) founded the annual event. The Tulsa Powwow began in 1951 at Lakeview Park at 3829 North Columbia Avenue in Tulsa. By the 1990s, the powwow grew to a four-day event with a budget of $93,000 which included dancing, arts, and crafts. |
