Reproduction, black & white photograph measuring 5" x 7" and depicting the Reeder Building, located on the northeast corner of the intersection of 2nd Street and South Boston Avenue in Tulsa, OK. Dr. Charles L. Reeder financed the construction of the building. Excavation work for the building began May 3, 1905. G. W. Foresman served as the building contractor. The building, measuring 50 by 100 feet, contained four stories of pressed brick, trimmed with Silverdale and Carthage limestone. The first floor served as retail space, while the upper three floors contained office space. The first tenant, the Fidelity Trust Company, occupied the building on May 31, 1906 in the first-floor corner of the building. The Reeder Building featured several modern conveniences such as electric wiring, gas pipelines, wiring for telephones in each room, and connection to the 1st Street sewer main. |
