Description |
Black & white sheet film negative measuring 4" x 5" and depicting a studio portrait of David Randolph Milsten (1903 - 1996), Tulsa, OK, circa 1965. Milsten played a central role in the intellectual development of Tulsa. A practicing attorney for over sixty-five years, he was also a published poet, author and historian. His leadership in establishing Gilcrease Museum and the City-County Library System provided a cultural foundation unique to Tulsa. As symbolized by the cap he wears in this image, Milsten was a 33rd Degree Scotish Rite in the Masonic Order. In 1994, he was inducted into the Tulsa Hall of Fame by the Tulsa Historical Society & Museum. |
