Black & white, 35 mm, roll film negative containing three images of male dancers in regalia at the 29th annual Tulsa Powwow, held July 17-20, 1980 at Mohawk Park in Tulsa, OK. Osage Randy Moore stands at the right. Kiowa Indian Kenneth Anquoe (1920-1989) founded the annual event. The Tulsa Powwow began in 1951 at Lakeview Park at 3829 North Columbia Avenue in Tulsa. By the 1990s, the powwow grew to a four-day event at Mohawk Park which included dancing, arts, and crafts. |
