Black and white, 35 mm, roll film negative containing three images from the Cherokee Heritage Center in Park Hill, OK. The first two images show an unidentified Cherokee man demonstrating a craft to an onlooker. The third image shows a Cherokee man beginning to weave a basket. The Heritage Center was designed to preserve the historical and cultural artifacts, language, and traditional crafts of the Cherokee and included complete reproductions of a mid-18th century Cherokee Township and a typical Cherokee village in early 19th century Indian Territory. The center opened in June 1967. As of 2024 its website noted it was "temporarily closed." |
