Black and white photograph measuring 10" x 8" and depicting George Barr with three small Japanese boys, all of whom are giving the "Out" sign. A caption attached to the back of the photograph states, "George Barr, veteran U.S. National League baseball umpire, on a 30-day tour of the FEC (Far East Command), sponsored by Special Services, General Headquarters, conducted an umpire school for the Japanese baseball leagues, as well as for military units. Here, he takes time out to coach Japan's younger baseball fans, one of the popular 'sand-lot' teams." |
