and depicting a view looking east on West 11th Street in Tulsa, OK. Signs for Crown Drug Company and the Lorrraine Apartments are visible on the far left. Edewinns Delicatessen at 307 West 11th Street appears on the north (left) side of 11th. First Church of Christ, Scientist and First United Methodist Church are visible in the center background. Simmons Shoe Rebuilders, at 240 West 11th, and Bowen Lounge, at 234 West 11th, are visible at the right. At the far right is the Tower Theatre, located at 1105 S. Denver Avenue. The First Church of Christ, Scientist, the domed building at the northwest corner of 11th Street and Boulder Avenue, is visible in the distance beyond the Lorraine. A corner of the Safeway grocery store and its parking area north of the building appear at the right side of the photograph. The Bowen (Grill) Lounge appears at the southeast corner of 11th and Denver. The Tower (motion picture) Theatre was in the next building to the south (right) of Bowen Lounge. The house at 1107 South Denver Avenue appears to the south (right) of the Tower Theatre, and the north side of the Alden Apartments appears to the south of the house at the far right edge of the photograph. A portion of the First Methodist Church building is visible in the background, at the southeast corner of 11th Street and Boulder Avenue. |
