Description |
Red brick from the platform of the first railroad depot in Tulsa, Creek Nation. The brick contains the embossed company name "Taylor & Raines, Wagoner, I.T." engraved on one side. The brick measures 4" x 8.375" x 2.375." The first depot in Tulsa, Creek Nation was the Saint Louis & San Francisco "Frisco" Railway depot, built in 1882. The Taylor & Raines brick plant at Wagoner, Creek Nation was not founded until at least 1895. Thus, if this brick was used in the first Tulsa depot platform, the brick platform was added years after the depot building was constructed. |
