Description |
Drinker-Collins duplex respirator, commonly known as an "iron lung," used at St. John's Hospital, located at 1923 South Utica Avenue in Tulsa, OK. Warren E. Collins, Inc. manufactured the iron lung circa 1950. It measures approximately 84 inches in length, 26 inches in width, and 56 inches in height. One side of the iron lung contains a manufacturer's label and step-by-step instructions for operating the apparatus. The label identifies the item as serial #2280 and model #1950. One side of the iron lung contains a brass plaque measuring 3.5" x 6" and stating that the item was purchased "in memory of Marjorie Anderson Gardner." |
